how is btp not on that list with a couple international ships/deep runs and a ship at GBH

Because the forst list is Canadian events only and the criteria of ten cashes and plus 100k here in Canada

Until Ontario changes their views on poker, this list will generally be dominated by Westerners, and is a pretty unrealistic showing of the best players in Canada.

I know this, cuz I've played against 12 on the list of Cdn cashes, and 1 on the International cashes.

Smart YYZ fulltime players should have moved out west already if they enjoy live tourney play (and Vegas is much closer).

im not a nut swinger, but steve has amazing sicko deep runs against international fields that are way tougher, bigger and sicker then rinky dink canadian tour events that no one gives a shit about, his "success" is way better then just about everyone in the OP's links.

Like to here opinions on tourney rankings too. My buddy worked hard to make sure list wasn't biased.

10 cashes, more than 100k on Canadian soil. And there are players from all over. Keep in mind most of these guys have 3-5 rings from field sizes and buyins just as big as the side events on world circuit.

His side comments also add to how he weighed this. James Werry and Richard Webb, both guys have final tabled and or won tournaments just about in every provinces/ cities majors, pretty damn impressive if you put favorites aside.

Remember, noone out 'west' knows who BTP is either....kinda like you don't know who anyone on that list is, so might be better to not make assumptions.

And lol that a Euro tourney would be harder than one in Canada for equal buy-in.

jofay was the only one I recognized... I am very, very into the whole poker scene as a whole, but alas, maybe ill give the "westerners" a bit more interest and get a little more informed on that scene out there before I make outbursts like my post prior lol.

Oh my comment was directed to the rankings as I fully understand the Canadian content. My comment was directed to the fact from the comment on "he hasn't had as much success as others on the list"

Now if the comment is further qualified by saying "on canadian soil" I totally agree, but to say overall he hasn't had similar success that is just ludacris.

No doubt we are biased on this forum but I think in the past few years he has really picked it up here in Canada/Europe/USA/Bahammas

lol, ok I might be kidding a bit there, but is the Hendon Mob database not considered accurate? If not what database is accurate for world results and shows different numbers for BTP?

Theres never going to be East on the list outside of Graham who travels.

Jon Lam has a big bink otherwise he moves from 2 to off the list.

Is the list accurate, technically yes, theoretically, no.

Aren't the Canadian rankings simply based on known cashes, with no room for opinion or bias? For example, I would rate pro Graham Lupton better than #23, but since his known cashes is only 23rd (missing a lot of Ontario results), then that is the site's ranking.

It's true, known cashes make a difference. Which is why he hopes people will update him with any they have, or ask their casino to send in results, or better still yet put them in themselves.

As for Jofay Being on the list, you might check his profile one of these days. Besides some decent Canadian event finishes, like 2nd in Brad Booth Classic and the CPT Invitational, you might be surprised to know he finished like 17th in a WSOP 1k

John Lamb did have a huge score but he has slaughtered GBH, think he prob has close to 100k in cashes there. First time I met him finished 3rd in Edmontons Main event after flying in to check it out, so he can play just as well outside Ontario.

So yeah, even outwest we know who some of the tough players are here in Canada, like Lupton and Eric Place. Most people who read do know of BTP by now and Steve Kerr, pretty hard not to notice.

He does want this to be accurate, so if there is merit to changing something, post it on that page please!

Hendon Mob is by far the most accurate for Canadian results in general until he gets done imputing his. He does have many they don't, as the former operations manager of CPT.

He has also built the function in to allow players to add their own if have.

I can't keep up with all this new poker slang. Looking at the Hendon Mob dbase, GTP hasn't had a big live score, or multiple like the players noted. If the dbase is not accurate, I stand corrected. Not saying he doesn't have the ability, he just needs more exposure to these bigger tournaments, which is just a matter of time.
