Well, I was going to post this at the beginning of March, but I need some focus to get me outta this Downswing/BE stretch now…

tl;dr CLIFFS
- Trying to play 10k $2 – 180 sng games MIN this year – maybe 15k
- Currently not putting in enough grind days, but still hitting volume target
- Trying to cashout ~$4-5k by Nov for wedding
- Hoping this thread will motivate me to play more days/nights

So back in November, I decided that I had enough of the bouncing back and forth from mtts to sngs to w/e was the flavour of the week. So I went through my results and it was quite clear where I was consistently making money – the 180 turbos. So I started grinding them, hoping to get good enough at them that I could make some withdrawals this year for my upcoming wedding down south. I’ve been watching vids on dc (OMGClaydol) on these games, and been trying to catch up on strat on 4. Think I have a decent understanding of how to play these games, now its just time to tighten that up and find some leaks. Might consider getting a coach in a month or two, depending on how much focus I can keep up.

The 2nd graph below is my graph for 2012. I think I have played a few mtts also, but no more than 10-15 games. They are not shown here.

February has not been kind. As you can see below in the first graph, I have been on a major downswing/BE stretch.…. Swings are sick in the 180s, but this doesn’t even count as a downswing to the 'real grinders' I don’t think….

For volume, even though I will be ahead of pace for the 10k games after tonight, I feel I am way way behind where I wanted to be. Maybe this means I should up my goal, I dunno. I find it hard to put in tons of volume throughout the week, since by the time I get settled at the comp its 7pm or later. Then games die around 10-11pm. So long grind nights are a thing of the past.

The reason I haven’t played much this year so far is that I have a report I am working on in order to get my CET designation. It is my last step and I have to submit by August. I am hoping to submit it by end of this month, so we will see.

So I def feel like 15k games would be attainable had I put in full volume for the first month and a half. But now I will have to catch up. So we will see. I’m just gunna try to put in some killer sessions in March, and see where I’m at come April.

Goal is to cash out $1k every time my bankroll hits $2k. Rinse and repeat 4-5 times by November.

I’m hoping to get motivation from this thread as so many others do. I haven’t decided if I will post HH in here. Most likely not, I will just post ‘em in strategy section. But I will try to update this thread weekly or bi-weekly at least.

UGH, played two days this week I think and only once this weekend, and just felt like I was getting crushed in every spot imaginable. I also think I'm around 600 bb below EV in all in pots this month over 30k hands. :bs:

Gunna def go through some videos and do a review or two this week before I play again to get some confidence back....

Okay, so I have spent a good solid few days getting my report done, and its like 99% there now. Just a few finishing touches and some proofreading, then submit.

So now I can focus on poker 100% of my free time. I have watched a few vids this weekend, including one that walked me through setting up an ICM calc in excel for a 9man sng. Obv wont help for 180 mans, but it def reinforced my ICM understanding a bit. Gunna play with it, and likely watch some more vids.

Hopefully I can get back to pace by the end of the week. I think Im around 125 games behind pace right now.

There are a bunch of other sngmtt vids on there, but once Im done OMGs vids I think I might just contact him and Camzace for some coaching hours. I feel like Im starting to hit a plateau in terms of my learning curve in these .... A coach would change that Im sure.

Other than that, Ive been lurking the mttsng section on 4 alot. If nothing else, it helps me remember names of regs.

So not a huge grind this weekend after all. Forgot I had Canstruction this weekend when I posted that. Hah. Anyways that took most of the day today. I only got in ~28 games last night, because I reduced to 12 tables and they started loading pretty slow at like 10ish. Got in a decent grind this evening, but pretty disgusted with four 7ths tonite....:bs: Could have been a great session.

There were a few spots where I knew I fucked up bad as soon as I did the action. Misclicks have become too often also. Gunna have to focus more I guess...

Might try to get in some games tomorrow evening, but likely not cus Im busy again.
