blackmagicz;294346 wroteTruly IMO the 1K has no value anyways, it is a crap shoot and really you are better off playing the 2.5K. For most who were looking to play the 1K as a "shot" you are betting off grinding an extra 1500 and playing the 2500. Better structure etc.
Alternatively you can also play the 1K at blue heron at the end of the month as well as the 1500 at Seneca the following weekend that has a superior structure but the 30% withholding.
Even flying out to vegas and spending 500-600 then playing a 2-3day venetian deepstack or Caesars WSOPC has better value especially if you are smashing tournies for 30-40K a month like some of the posters in this thread.
I good player who is able to quickly decipher unknowns tendencies+aware of table dynammics would rip apart any of these tournaments. The 1k definitely comes with more variance, but its hugely +ev
BlondeFish;294347 wroteIs this because paying for the Fallsview tournament entry is considered a gambling transaction by your credit card company and charges you as a cash advance? All the tournament entries I paid for with a credit card at Brantford, Point Edward and Great Blue Heron casinos were all treated as normal purchases with no fees.
SteveKerr;294349 wroteBrantford, Point Edward, and GBH all put your tournament buy ins through as a purchase, where as Fallsview puts it through as a Cash Advance.
At least that is my understanding
I have no idea what is true. Since I hate making banks richer, I followed what seemed like logical advice of respected posters. This delay + scalpers greed cost me a seat
pokerJAH;294360 wroteI will try and see if I can get you a voucher for PAR. I got some contacts and will see what I can do.
That is a kind gesture, I appreciate your efforts. After a good nights sleep, Ive accepted the situation for what it is
AK-Frosty;294389 wroteWith the 1K soldout and still a month to go before the event any chance the 2.5K becomes a sellout? Anyone know how many tickets are left for the 2.5K other than the ones they are holding back for the super satty?
I think your best bet would be to call the casino. That info has to be more accurate and up to date than posters here can provide. Please be sure to tell them how out of hand the scalping is, and ask how many people bought 8 tickets.
