Kind of. Hill has an option that the Jays would have to decline and I believe that would mean no compensation if he signed elsewhere. If Johnson walks they will get at least a compensatory pick in next years draft (a la Buck last year) and if he has a hot end to the season he could move himself into Type A free agency which means the signing team would have to give the Jays their first rounder. If he stays with the Jays his arbitration salary would likely be very reasonable.
For Jmc it's a chance to spend the dog days in a pennant race and he could even contribute at SS with their injuries. Don't be shocked to see him in a Jays uniform next spring.....it's happened before.
