FWIW, Lee Jones and Serge Ravitch also left/resigned from Cake recently. Are we seeing Cake going down in front of our own eyes?

I'm still waiting for a MB withdrawal from Doyles for 1.5 weeks now. Cleared everything from the cake network, I think that network will be done in 2011.

They fell fast. Weren't they not solidly in third behind Stars and Tilt in terms of traffic for the better part of 2010?

Stars, Tilt, toss up between iPoker and Party (they were switching back and forth). Cake's been around 15th overall for most of the past year.

Yeah I think they were 7th before sportsbook.com left and have dropped big time since. 2 years ago I thought they were going to be the next big network, but lack of progression and bad software upgrades have plagued it.

ugh! This is kinda what I was talking about in the pokerstars cashout thread as I too have to use MB and it will be about the same time frame and who knows if it will work.

Maybe check to see if your bank rejected it if the site did process it yet as I am sure last time my bank did, they all of a sudden don't like moneybookers.

Cake hasn't been a top 10 network for more than 2 years: this past year they've declined from roughly 15th to 25th. While it's a top 10 network for US/Canadian peak traffic (ie - players online during our evenings), it doesn't come close to the main Euro sites/networks.

Sportsbook and Players Only left early last year and though it had an impact, it's definitely not the reason for the decline at Cake. There have since been a number of skins who have joined the Cake network, most notably Broadway Tables, Victory Poker, and one of my partners 7win, to help build traffic back up.

The biggest issues of late were:

1) A pot being shipped to the wrong player late last year - disconnection issue
2) The PTR scandal of Cake lacking a SSL encryption system, even after assuring the poker community they had one right after UB has the same issue.

Additionally, I think the inability for users to use a HUD is both a blessing and a curse. It attracts the rec players who don't like getting "cheated" by the pro grinders, but it keeps those pro grinders out, who build up the traffic of a room.

The other issue is that Cake spends too much time trying to bring in US players, who every year are more and more wary about the legality of playing poker online (at least that's what I found when networking with players/affiliates in Vegas last summer during the WSOP).

They released a software upgrade back in the fall (Cake 2.0) and while I've heard it's much better, I can't get the updates in China, so I haven't had a chance to really test it out.

While I don't expect the Cake network to crumble this year, Doyles Room leaving will definitely have a much bigger impact than SB or PO.

Nah Cake network has always been top 10 in traffic. They were always around the same level as microgaming and ipn. Once they added all those country specific sites thats when all the traffic reports got messed up.

Yeah, the French/Italian sites really messed up the settings, though I do find it interesting that there are more players on Everest France on a general night than there are on Cake.

I know I've lurked round here quite a bit in the last while. But do guys think I should be concerned? My only curiosity will be the release of rake and race promos as I would have some funds tied up there. What concerns me the most is the lack of communication to the player base.

Got a email from them saying they now have new software as they are now part of the yatahaw or something poker network, like who:confused::confused::confused:.

The new software needs some tweaking. Just the main hub or whatever you want to call it....on the left side some of the selections are overlapped so bad you can't even read them. Strange. Could be just my setup...who knows.

True Poker (Yatahay's) software is still quite buggy (especially seeing as it's about 10 years old), though my understanding is that the new 2D software is still less than a year.

Quite often, you won't be able to see your cards for the first hand or two after moving tables, or if you join a tournament late. That said, I know they've been spending a lot of money to upgrade the 2D software, trying to bring it up to industry standards (ie - no bugs).

Will be interesting to see what kind of bump this gives Yatahay.
