There are really no hotels in that area (it is kind of near my house). The good news is that it isn't very far to get anywhere in Calgary.
I stayed at the Hotel Arts once 2 years back and it was decent. It tries a bit too hard to be "modern", but it's a decent location. Close to Stampede and Elbow casinos (you probably won't bother going to Elbow it's a limit room) and good access to major routes to get to Deerfoot. Not too far from Grey Eagle.
It is a bit more than you wanted to pay. Expedia has it at $132 average per night. I have no clue why the 23 and 24 are so expensive relative to the weekend nights. The only thing you want to check out is how much parking is there a night.

If you can get a deal on this it is also downtown:

The only thing that sounded not terrible and cheap is Hotel Alma. ($85/night). It is not close to any of the games, but is right next to Crowchild Trail which takes you right to Grey Eagle. Probably less than 15 mins in non-peak traffic. I have never seen nor stayed here, but it got decent reviews on Trip Advisor.

3rd option would be anything in "motel village". Just a bunch of chain motels...noting too nice and overpriced for chain crap. Again, close to Crowchild so you can get to GE easily. I believe some other type of pros used these rooms at times -- good or bad? Prolly bad. I stayed at a motel here once before I lived out here and it was ok...I just needed a room, nothing special. Personally, I wouldn't stay here unless you are just going to sleep and leave.
Overall, Stampede is close to downtown if not considered downtown. GE is in the SW kinda all by itself off of major thoroughfares. Deerfoot is in a crappy industrial area in what I think is the SE (pretty far south) -- no idea if there are hotels in that area, but I assume they aren't nice if there are any. Hotel Arts would be as close to the middle of all 3 as you will get. Hotel Alma will is in the NW and will be decent to get to GE, annoying to get to Stampede and far from Deerfoot -- this is pretty much the same with motel villiage.
Edit: my bad, I just looked -- You can pretty much interchange Cash for Stampede for approx locations.
