Kristy_Sea;214869 wroteHey I didn't make you act like a jerk in the scotch thread..you did that all on your own. Post-fact justification just makes you look like more of a d-bag.
Heh, I'd forgotten about that. Still bugging you? I thought I already apologized for being a d-bag. If not, my apologies to you.

You're also borderline retarded if you actually think this site can catch up to...and then surpass 2p2 or P5. Not only are they years ahead of us, they aren't saddled with the 'Canadian perspective' which will never allow us to be more than a niche..like the forum on 'woman poker player'
Nope, not retarded. This site will never, ever, come close to 2p2 or P5 in content, popularity, or revenue (sorry, scoops). I was thinking more like JackSeven - same theme as PFC but strictly Ottawa region; meanwhile it has nearly as many active posters as PFC, despite being for one city - perhaps because people stay on topic for the most part, and don't ignore or insult new members that don't belong to the existing clique. Another example is Chiptalk - which has more regular Canadian posters than PFC (I think); it's the best online community I could imagine in terms of camaraderie, generosity, and an apparent deficiency of trolls - perhaps because it's well-moderated.

And once again..we're back to 'community'
Also, K-W's poker scene jumped off earlier and was hotter than other places..thus bringing players to the forum where we THEN met each other and became friends/acquaintances w/e and NOW talk to each other in that manner. Suggesting that this should be discouraged is just plain dumb.
That's exactly what I was hoping to find when I came to PFC - but with a Canada-wide contribution and readership. Sure, there are a handful of people from the Vancouver area, one near Edmonton, one or two in Saskatchewan and Manitoba... but not enough to get a game going. The vast majority are from K-W, even outnumbering those from Toronto by a large factor. Maybe it's because the only good poker players in Canada live in K-W. Maybe it's because the Royal Cup gets organized at PFC. Maybe it's because other Canadians don't feel welcome on this site unless they're part of the K-W clique, and share Kristy's sense of humour and obey her rules. I dunno.
Scoops, I don't envy your task. I sincerely hope you can make PokerForum.ca into a Canadian poker community on a national scale, and a viable web site. Unfortunately, I don't have any advice. I think it's up to the members... and reading this thread, it sounds like you're outnumbered and fighting an uphill battle.
