ugh what a mess this hand was i think by the way i played, not really happy with myself, very 1st hand so no reads at all

How would you have played it being the 1st one to act every street? still reraise preflop? post flop actions? do you go broke with queens very 1st hand if someone re-raises preflop all in?

I'm fine with it up to the river. No draws got there so what hand folds to your bet that you are beating?

I think the answer is maybe KK and nothing else. So why bet?

I would more likely give him a chance to bluff a hand like JT or TT or 99 or a whiffed diamond draw and then you can get paid on this hand. Your bet only gets called by the part of his range that beats you (excluding KK).

I don't know about you, but the last thing I want to do is to be put to a decision to CALL a bet from villan on the river with an under pocket pair on a board with an Ace.

I prefer phil's blocker value bet.. If he missed, he folds.. If he raises, you fold.. If he calls, you get to showdown.

Edit: Phil.. I know what you are thinking.. you think you have the best hand and feel that if a street passes where you don't bet, you played it wrong. It's not like that.. The raise on the flop says Ace.. the call says Ace or Draw.. Checking the turn, it's really hard for villan to bet anything.. Most of the opponents at your level will make the mistake of being too PASSIVE (giving away free cards) so you can get to the river cheaper. Take advantage.

well my plan to isolate the short stack did not work, do you do that here and how much do you reraise? i fkd up the reraise as obv i did not want to leave just 487 back
