194 points now after only 8 games played, 100th has 378 as of last night, so will keep plugging along and see what happens, only 2 more first places in a 27 man tourny and i am there. lol
Poker Stars, SNG Leaderboard-
ooooooooook so i am at 314 points after 13 games, less then 100 points from cracking the leaderboard and 200 from like 1st place, and i bubbled twice today so could have been even closer.
How'd you finish?philliivey;152142 wroteooooooooook so i am at 314 points after 13 games, less then 100 points from cracking the leaderboard and 200 from like 1st place, and i bubbled twice today so could have been even closer.
Trying for it again this week. Moved up levels though, playing the $11, 9-man regulars. We'll see how I fare.
finished with 389 points, just fell short :(, about 30 points from being on it and 60 points from getting bonus money, but at least i was able to cash out for the 2 nd time in 2 weeks from pokerstars as i reached 1 of my poker goals.
i also may move up to 11 buy in and give it a try but will see what happens, not going for it this week maybe next week.

okay, i'm issuing a challenge to myself. i think i'm going to try to make the leaderboard playing only 5 card draw 6 person SNGs. i've tried these a couple times and it is seriously scary how bad people play in these things. although half of the games i played fell into last week, i've played 8 games and cashed in 7 (winning 4 of them). the one i lost i was on the bubble. gl to me!
good idea, ya i cashed reg in these as well, have not played in these in a while mind ya.
mostly play 50 cent 1 dollar up to 2 4 dollar 5 card draw cash right now.

Bah...Somehow managed to only get 1 third in my last 12 games of the 100 block at the Earth level. Had a real good shot at taking it. Currently 13th for the big $40.

After 13 games this week, in Venus, I am sitting just over 300 points (similar to above). Not sure how many wins I've had but I have obv. been running pretty hot. With 7 games to go I could crack the top 100, just going to continue playing solid luckboxy poker and see what happens. Would be a nice brag to crack the top 100/40/10....

Been there done that, although it was the very first week of the promo :Dstpboy;173464 wroteWould be a nice brag to crack the top 100/40/10....

I completely forgot about the SNG Leaderboard since the DoN's came out. Taking a break from the DoN's (got rocked in the past week) and trying for these again.
Also realized that to get into the top 100/40/10 in the low-orbit you HAVE to run extremely good at the 9-mans, but not as good if you grind out 100 for the high-orbit.
It's almost better playing the 27-man SNG's to get into the top for the low-oribt leaderboard.
Wasn't sure what you meant by Don's so looked em' up. Those are the double or nothing tournaments on stars where top 5 get paid equally and the other 5 get nothing. Apparantly the rake on these is 10%. They also do not qualify for the battle of the planets. Anyone find profit in these?....I guess you should start a new thread <person that is about to respond to my q>

bzzt. rake is 8% for regular dons and lower yet for the turbos...
I play the 50 doNs exclusively. I think the profitability is lower than playing regular sngs - hence the necessity of the rake cut by Stars but the variance is lower. I like em because they are longer than turbos but shorter than regular sngs. Plus they are pretty mindless and it doesn't get too hectic if you start 4-6 at once. If you started 4 regular sngs in quick succession and end up cashing in say 3 of them, it gets pretty hectic but the bubble in the dons is 6 handed so you have lots of time to act between tables. This for me is probably the main advantage as I usually only have a limited time each evening to play so I usually start up 4-6 at once, play them out and head for bed. Played 5 last night, cashed 3, bubbled 2, so ya the rake cut made me an extra $5.

Was building the bankroll 10-tabling $1.20, 18mans when I realized I cashed 8 out 10 and had 410 points...decided to go for the leaderboard with 9mans after that.
Finished with...
$1.20, 18man
3 first, 5 seconds
$1,20, 9man
1 first, 4 seconds, 1 third
+$41.70 and 584 points which should put me in 4th place on Mercury low orbit. Stars is still calculating overall points, but If it holds, that's a bonus +$70 and a ticket to the BoP shootout at the end of the month! Wooo! A couple races cost me some firsts, which would've easily got me on top of the leaderboard.

Officially in the BoP Leaderboard shootout at the end of the month.
Currently 83 signed up and 81 pay...how does that work in a shootout? I don't think I've played this format before.

Gotta win your table to move on....then all the 1st place people form a new table...TiMSuM;184985 wroteOfficially in the BoP Leaderboard shootout at the end of the month.

Arrgh...made it to heads-up in the first round, but choked...I should've had that, kind of disappointed. I'm not sure how they seat players at the beginning, but some tables started with 6, like the one I was at and some started at headsup. Kinda sucks when you have to go through 5 others, instead of just 1.

All tables should be even (or within one person), seems very odd they would screw that up. Maybe you looked at the other tables after some were eliminated already?
Unless they eliminted like 4 people within 3 minutes, it seemed odd that the number of players differed a lot for each table. I think it was 6 max for each table as there was 9000 chips for total table.T8urmoney;186104 wroteAll tables should be even (or within one person), seems very odd they would screw that up. 466 entrants on 81 tables.
