Looking for some good places to look for cash game chips .25 $1, $5, $25

Not looking for Walmart plastic ones but not looking for official composite chips for 4K

Looking to spend like $250 ish, any suggestions for places? or what to look for for cheaper chips?

yeah it's pretty sure that you had got yours there and I didn't mind them.. and I do not think there's a way to create a table on here LOL.

also, it's catered to be able to give out that chip distribution for 15 players, so basically 10 players + 5 rebuys. After that, you can just start giving bigger chip for rebuys and they can make change at the table.

At your price range, Straightpokersupplies is a good choice.

Imo, chip breakdown for 10 player .25-.25 blinds:
.25 x 150
$1 x 200
$5 x 200+
$25 x 50+
Adding to the pluses a bit more can easily cover any increased blinds in the future. At $25 max buyin, probably don't even need $25s honestly.

Awesome, thanks guys this really helps a lot.. I know it's probably better to have more chips than less chips so when I do Ill probably grabbing a 500 stack is best.. a lot of the places I read talked about three or four denominations. $.25, $1, $5 and $25. with the $25s being optional anybody that buys in later we'll just get 1x $25 or 5x $5 chip and they can make change at the table. that way you don't have hundreds of chips on the table.

I was told to think about the total amount of money that could be on the table at the end of the night. In my case 10 players and average 4 bullets each I figure that's 40 buy-ins at $25 each, that's $1,000 in chips at minimum that you need to have.. and as long as you got at least 20-25 chips per player on the table at the start in the BB value (.25) you can always make change for any other chip

A 500 chip set would be perfect for your game. I really like the look of the Phoenix set https://straightpokersupplies.com/poker-chips-sets/phoenix-cardroom-poker-chips.html

Breaking down your set like this would give you almost $2k in bank:

$0.25 x 150 = $27.50
$1 x 200 = $200
$5 x 100 = $500
$25 x 50 = $1250

You're planning on 8 max so your starting stacks for $25 max would be:

$0.25 x 20 = $5
$1 x 10 = $10
$5 x 2 = 10

If you wanted to make the game 200 BB max then you could add a $25 chip. All rebuys could be done with $5 (until exhausted) and then you would use the $25 chips. Rebuying players can make change as needed between hands.

Having 20 x $0.25 chips minimizes the need to make change and keeps the game going.

holychow Breaking down your set like this would give you almost $2k in bank:

    $0.25 x 150 = $27.50
    $1 x 200 = $200
    $5 x 100 = $500
    $25 x 50 = $1250

You're planning on 8 max so your starting stacks for $25 max would be:

    $0.25 x 20 = $5
    $1 x 10 = $10
    $5 x 2 = 10

This seems reasonable and I can buy more if needed or I find I am always low on one denom or the other Only think I think I would change is only 25x $25 and get 25 more $5 but this is about the spread I need!

20 quarters seems like a few too many imho. Only really need them for blinds as bets will probably be min $1 (and how often will people be betting like $1.75?)
      12 quarters each at most.

MrCaspan More $5 would be better for your game.

trigs That's true. His workhorse will be the $1 anyway.

About the $1.75 bets... You've met @g2 lol

holychow lol I was going to say "as long as g2 isn't in the game"

Him and Bruno were contributing factors for me abandoning quarters outright

Just a warning about ceramics, they can possibly be a little slippery and might have "spinners" (the chips can spin and slide when stacked).

Spin and slide? Sorry how do you mean? I have read about them being slippery also on Poker Chip Forum.

I will be getting a sample pack first to make sure I like them.

Oh I get you now its like the center is up a bit and allows the chip to spin in place in the stack! I feel like all the chips have issues. Clay will just chip and get flea bites in them. the composites are the same. The ABS ones will have defects in them because they are mold injected..

Plus once you do find one, finding a design you like and one that has 25c chips lol.

I like this sets design, simple, numbers are visible and legible, they have 25c chips denom.. but is the slipperiness an issue haha.., I think grabing a sample pack and feel them to make sure they are okay.. It's really great feedback trigs!!

MrCaspan Not all ceramics are slippery. Some are "textured" and are fine, but without the texture, they can slide a bit. For example, when stacking them, they can easily fall over if not stacked precisely straight.
"Spinners" refers to when chips are stacked up and they spin or slide still. Clay chips "stack like bricks" and stay in place generally, but ceramics can slide and slip sometimes.
Good idea to get a stack and test them. It's not a big deal if you don't care about it, but some people find it annoying.
