After reading some of the information, I have come to the conclusion that there is too much information out there. If nothing else I have learned that most players have their own style, and the more information you read the harder the game actually gets. You need to develop your own niche as a player, whatever style that is, you can't be someone else.
You can't have too much information. What you can have, though, is trouble processing the information at the rate at which it's arriving. You are right that if you allow yourself to get overwhelmed by everything everyone says, you'll land up in the gutter.
But I mean, todays world is prettymuch based on information gathering and filtering. We do it a bazillion times a day as it is. Think about it. When you were watching lost last night, What was the last commerical you saw? Can't remember eh?
Anyway, you are correct. Your job as a learned poker player is to gather the facts and figure out how to turn that into your own style.
FWIW, good 5th post.
