Top pair is top pair. If you bet the right amount so that drawing hands can't justify calling. I guess stack sizes can be a factor. Regardless of betting TPTK will win more often then drawing hands. No?

sounds awesome.... I should start a thread asking for some quick helpful tips, to get me started on the road to good poker (besides reading the stickies and older posts which I am) . I imagine some knuckle dragging posters would mumble "post hands - then help"... and I, (lol) would retort "why dont'cha try and give advice pre-hindsight?" they would no doubt give some other blankey non-answer. lol. Humans these days ???.

I should have posted this in the strategy section and not analyse my hand section. What a tit I am.

How about this? Of course, due to the variance of a single session results cannot be guaranteed

    http://www.pokerforum.ca/f7/gta-how-...5-below-28751/

Also, not taking advice from those uprooting their lives to play 1/2 when it is readily available locally is probably also some sound advice

If you have intentions of going pro or simply enjoy a good protein shake then this may be useful:

    http://www.pokerforum.ca/f7/gtas-giv...ing-pro-29321/

If you have specific questions about what hands to play, how deep to buy in, about a specific venue, etc then post away

How about starting by posting the min/max, your bankroll for the night and other structure details of the games you intend to play (9 handed 10 handed, etc)

GL, post some hands after your session. Even if you win a huge pot it doesn't mean that you played the hand optimally. Try and remember the details of any big hand, win or lose, and post them for some advice/opinions.

Eh so I have $200 to spend, I haven't decided if I should buyin $100 or $200 and have the option to top up or not.
I guess Im playing whatever NLHE is available, Im not ready for PLO too new to it. I think the only game is going to be 9 player 1/2 no limit.
