Fallsview Poker Classic WPT 2020 - Who's In?

Thought I'd start a new thread for those playing in the FPC next week.

I'll start off - I drove to Niagara today to register for Day 1B of the $1,100 tournament (Monday). Went down with my better half to register and have lunch. Played a little craps while there and managed to raise $300 towards my buy-in! Let's hope the luck continues next week.

Just an FYI re the buy-in and rake. The website and brochures all advertise the $1,100 as being $950 + $150, implying $950 goes to the prize pool. Check your tournament buy-in receipt if you register and you'll notice that the buy-in (contribution to prize pool) is actually only $921.50, the administrative fee is $150 and there is a "player fee" of $28.50. In other words the rake is 16.2% of the $1,100, not 13.6% as you might have thought.

Edit: FYI, my registration shows me as "entry number 626", which I presume means there are at least 626 entries so far. Not sure if that means for Day 1B only or both Day 1's.

  • Ok... ok..... I don’t want you to be all alone Brian.

Didn’t really want to play this one but the fear of missing out got to me. Just registered for it. :fish:

Glad you're going - misery loves company. Let me know what time you plan on going down and maybe we can have a coffee or something before the start. I imagine I'll head down a bit early to make sure I get there on time and find parking.
  • Please keep in mind that this has never started on time....... but, yes definitely meet up before hand.

It is not the NSOP. That is in October.
It is the the FPC WPT '20 as stated in the thread title.

    $950 + $150
    $1,100 buy in
    $150 is admin fee.
3% of the prizepool money is dealer grats. This is pretty much standard in all large tournaments.
So....$921.50 to the prizepool, $150 admin fee amd $28.50 dealer tips.

I see what you're saying and it's actually informative that the "dealer tips" are disclosed separately on the buy-in receipt. My point was that in all of the tournament material that I reviewed there was no clear disclosure of how the dealer tips were accounted for other than in one of the tournament FAQs. Now that I think about it I guess Vegas tournaments are no different - the 3% held back for dealer tips is probably withheld from the amount designated for the "prize pool" and not from the tournament admin fee. Good to know.
