  • Level 5 (200-400,400)

Finally get a hand. AcAs in early position. I raise to 1000, call and V (“semi-pro” guy) raises to 3700. Folded to me and I raise to 8000. Folded to V who calls. Flop Jc8c5h. V bets and I shove. V thinks for a long time and calls. He turns over 5x4x! Turn Q river A and I’m up to 56,000. Avg = ~37,700.
  • Woooohoooooo

crush “semipro”. Teach that bitch about WE THE NORTH !
  • Moved to new table. First hand dealt AJos. Folded to me and I raise to 1000. Folded to SB who calls. Flop J high. V checks I bet 1500 he calls. Turn rag, I bet 2500, V raises to 7500 and I call. River a brick. V checks and I check. I show my J and he mucks. Scoop a nice pot. Up to almost 70,000.
  • End of level 6 (second break)
    My stack 68,100
    Avg = 46,600

    Playing 15 levels today.
  • Just hit the 3rd break and heading to
level 10. I was up to almost 90,000 but dropped some late in level 9 when I got a couple of good hands but bad flops. Now at 73,200, avg is 60470.
    849 runners, 351 left
  • WE THE NORTH !

correction, no one knows who the Raptors are

    WE THE OTHER!
  • End of level 12. Up to 180,500, avg is 112,300. 189 runners left out of 849.

91 of 600 survived day 1A with an avg stack of 164,835.

    3 levels left tonight.
  • Amazing ! Keep up the good work.
  • Barely made it to day two. Down to 102,000. Next level will be 2500-5000 with a 5000 ante. That puts my M just under 9 which means i’ll be looking to shove early on.
  • Looks like I’m 161 out of 209 remaining. 153 paid. Need a couple of big hands early on.
  • GL man that bubble is close!!
  • Just checked out my seat assignment for today. Although I’m short stacked so is pretty much the rest of my table. The big stack at my table is only at 185,400 and there are a couple of shorter stacks so at least there shouldn’t be a lot of pushing around to start.
  • Be the pushee not the callee, unless you have a big hand of course. In these situations I would even push middle suited connectors if folded to you in late position. lol, ymmv.. Of course I would never do this at a home game...:fish:;)
  • First break of the day - i’m In seat 9 on the button so I have a few hands before blinds and antes hit me. Yay me.
  • Pick your spots and trust your reads. Good luck Brian.
  • Pick your spots and trust your reads. Good luck Brian.

    Thanks Pimp.
  • Well that didn’t last long.

2nd hand. Short stack shoves 47000. I have AQ and shove. V shows T9os. 7 high flop. Turn 8 river J and I’m down to 57000.

Next hand I get QT os. Folded to me I shove and one caller. V shows AJ so I have two live cards. T high flop gives me hope but A on turn seals the deal. Off to Aria for their senior.
  • No issue with the way you played either hand, I would have done exactly the same... tournament variance is a bitch..

damn seniors.. 10,9 off??? I though they were supposed to be tight.
  • Holy poop. Nice try, can’t do anything different in that spot.

I would check that guys I.D. Sounds like a whippersnapper move to me.
  • In T9’s defense he was down to 47000 and the blinds were coming to him next hand. BB and ante were over 20% of his stack so he pretty much was shoving with any two reasonable cards.
  • Playing the Aria Senior. Scuffling along and down to about 14000 late in level 8. Ad9d in the BB. Utg raises to 1700 and 2 callers so I call. Ragged flop with 2 diamonds. Checked around to me and I check. A on the turn. Utg bets 3500 and one caller. I shove. Utg thinks a bit and folds and other folds so I scoop a decent pot.

Two hands later I get 55 in late position. A raise to 1700 and a call so I call. Flop come 85x, two diamonds. First to act bets 1800. V raises to 3700. I think a bit and shove my last 25000. Folded to V who thinks for awhile and calls. Forget what he showed but he had 2 diamonds and a straight draw. I dodge his outs and finally get some chips. Up to 57,700 at the second break. Avg is around 39000.
  • Last hand. QdQh in middle position. V raises to 2700, I smooth call and two callers behind. 955 flop with 2 clubs. V bets 3700 and I shove. Folded around to V who calls with AcKc. Brick on the turn but club on the river.

With a shorter stack I would have shoved pre-flop (which wouldn’t have made a difference) but I still had an avg stack size so I wanted to have the chance to fold if an A or K comes on the flop.
  • On to the next one..... lol... tournaments.. so frustrating at times..
  • WSOP Senior. I’ll try to update occasionally but no guarantees.

    Level 1 (100-100,0)

Played a few hands but couldn’t connect on anything so down to about 16000. QcKc in the BB. 5 limpers to me so I raise to 400 and 4 call! Kxx flop. I bet 1000 folded to V (who has been pretty aggressive and he raises to 2200. I call. Turn rag. I check and V bets 4000. I call. River a brick. I check and he checks. I show my hand and he folds. Up to 25700 at end of level 1.

    Level 2 (100-200,0)

Lost a chunk of my stack. Dealt AK. Flop comes AJx, bet to the river and V shows AJ. Down to 15300.

Lost a few hands along the way and down to ~10000. Get AQ in late position. I’ve this hand 3 or 4 times already and it’s cost me every time. I hate AQ. Folded around to V who raises to 600. I call and everyone else folds. Flop 65x. V bets 1500 and I call. Turn a brick, V checks and I check. River A. V bets 2700. I shove my last 6000 or so and V folds after thinking for awhile.

    15400 at the first break.

    Level 3 (100-200,200)
  • Down to 10,100 at the second break so getting desperate. 2nd hand after the break:

    Level 5 (200-400,400)

Kc3c in SB. Couple of limpers so I complete and BB checks. Ragged flop with 1 club checked around. 2nd club comes on the turn. I check and V bets 1000. I call and everyone folds. Qc on the river. I check to V who bets 1000. I shove my last 7500 or so and V calls. My flush doubles me up to 21400
  • Nice!!!
  • Brian , how are you finding the structure of this event with 60 min blinds and the big blind ante ?
  • The structure is very good, much better than previous years. Even now in level 6 (almost 6 hours in) you can buy in and get 20,000 chips which equates to an M of over 15 (or 40 BB’s for you young fellas out there) That still gives you some play.
  • Made it to dinner break with around 28,000. Playing my usual scuffle poker (somehow I manage to just scuffle along and get lucky once in awhile).
  • Level 8 (400-800,800)

Getting pretty short-stacked. MP with V on my right. V raises to 3700. I find TT so shove my last 17000 or so. Folded to V who calls and shows JJ. Bricks on the flop and turn. I call for “one time” before river and dealer accommodates me with the third T. Whoo hooo, still alive with 38,800.
