My heater is over........

Some of you that I have met know I play in a stupid big cash game with the guys from the golf club in Woodbridge called The National. We used to play every two weeks but now the game goes off every second month because the guys are always traveling.

So tonight was the night and I was getting killed. I was in for 13,000 because I lost a couple buy-ins already but battled back to where I had 9,000 in front of me when this hand happens. other guy in hand had just under 25,000 in front of him.

On the button I have AK spades I have the mandatory $ 100 straddle on. A loose manic pops it to $350, everyone folds around to me and I re-pop it to $975 he calls.

Flop comes J spade Q spade A hearts.

guy bets out 1100 I re-raise to 2300 he calls.

Turn is 10 diamonds great card for me. I have the nut straight with the re-draw for the royal or any flush.

guy bets 2800 and I shove for 5200 and he snap calls with pocket Jacks...........

BAM 10 of clubs on the river.

lets just say I was talking to myself the whole drive home.

I know I didn't play it wrong but it still sucks to loose one like that.

If I can get my dog walker to swing by I will play the OLG tourney this Sunday to try and get some back.

  • Booked a small win tonight. Night started off dreadfull and i was in for 15k after about four hours.

My big loosing hand was pocket aces into pocket sixes on a 26j rainbow flop. I bet every street and turn and river bricked out. Guy never raised just kept calling. DOH !!

I got a Full double up of just under 6k with KQ flop was KcQc4c guy bets the pot and i didnt put him on a flush....so i called. Bam queen comes on the turn the guy bets me all in and SNAP.......... He had Ac9c. Nice double.

my last big hand of the night i had 7s8s and the flop came 77J i check raised a guy that i thought had an over pair based on his pre flop raise size. Turn is a 7 and i asked him how big his full house was. He just laughed and said he had the best hand. He sits there cutting out chips for a big bet . Ends up betting about 2500 which is about half the pot. I call after a minute or so and say maybe we are going to chop the pot. Of course an ace comes on the river and this guy looks like hes gonna have a heart attack. He says all in and call him . He smashes his pocket aces down on the table and starts to reach for the chips ....... I flipped my right in front of me and i was sitting in 9 and he was in seat 1 so he didn' t see my cards till the table was yelling saying what a set up hand and ewwwww Quads. He was not happy at vput me up to just over 21k...... Ended the night with a 3700 profit. And it is 6 am and i am just going to bed.

See some of you at mooses for the PLO game this week.

You do realize that Moose might not let you play those kind of stakes? ;)
  • Nice comeback.
Do you find your table talk saying it may be a chop when you have quads work often? A scenario would be where you may hold nut straight vs a straight. 9TJK2 board where player holds a Qx and you hold AQ.

Don't get quads often enough to know if the talking helps or not. In a Casino with quads i would quiet right down and not give any info but this game is really loose with the rules as some of the guys have been playing together for 15+ years .

in your scenario i think chatter would work with weaker players but most of us would have a hard time folding the second nut straight.

Moose's game is a great night out and 99% of the time i am the worst player there ...... So i learn alot.
  • I will never understand why as soon as you signed up that I didn't have two tables worth of players trying to get into the game. :D

    I agree 1000%

i thought there would be at least 5 or 6 peeps on the waiting list.

I am still allowed to play a couple of blind hands .... Right ????
