Sign Brantford Petition

The tournament today at OLG Casino Brantford was sold out as usual. What was unusual was there was a petition going around "FOR PLAYERS BY PLAYERS!" :o There were already over 44 signatures by the time I noticed it at another table and asked, "WTF is that about?" :wink2: While it is impossible for every player to agree on 100% of the tournament suggestions, I support what the 50+ want & signed it.

So next time you are at Brantford, please sign the petition (may have to ask for players Ted, Eddie or Dave). At the very least, with Brantford and all OLG casinos up for sale, somebody might take an interest in what players want. The worst thing we can do is just whine and complain to each other and stop going to Ontario poker rooms, while never giving any suggestions to staff or filling out a feedback form. I had a negative experience when I took my first shot at Brantford in ~2007; had I not filled out the form and got contacted back to take another shot, I may have quit poker instead of luckboxing into a poker bankroll that year.

  • My friend played the 180 tourney on thurs and he said the petition was mostly for more lower buy-in tournys and no more $1090 tournys. They wanted the highest one to be the $550.

I only enjoy the bigger tournys because i am not going to drive out there and oay a huge rake to play in a $150 bounty tourny.

I like the structure and the play in the $230, $330,$550 and $1090. I have no interest in signing anything that is going to limit the larger buyin tournys.

Also i don't believe anyone really cares at the OLG management.
  • I would rather see longer and more blind levels. And even two day tournaments to accommodate the longer structure.
  • Yeah, me too, but GL with that.

The goal of the petition is to get more players out and have more than 2 tourneys a week. The regs that drew it up are of the opinion that lower BIs are the way to accomplish this.

By getting more players out on a regular basis its less likely that BCC will discontinue the tourneys altogether, which is something they have been considering for a while.

In short, the proposed changes are
    1. more sattys, including a $65 to the $550.
    2. No more $1090s
    3. No more $330s
    4. All events to be sattys, DS, or bounty formats.

That's all I can remember ATM. In general in works for me so I signed. I doubt BCC will implement such changes since they already are of the opinion that they don't make enough money on tourneys and tourney players don't play cash games, so it's not worth it to them.

agree - those changes seem decent enough but I doubt they really care all that much about poker tourneys in the big picture.

I would sign a petition to finally allow NL cash though...

OK, which one of you will write up the petition? I'm willing to co-sign it and publicize it. With all the OLG casinos up for grabs, I believe they can get approval to run NL cash games, and we won't have to wait for hours like at Fallsview.

    i'll sign that.

This petition is a bad idea. Do you see why?
