Rama trny oct 19

Anyone still go to these bi-weekly trnys at Rama with a BF approved rake structure?

I will be going to this one as the gf has an all day event booked there so I figured it would be good timing to take the day off work and play this.

By the sounds of it, it's still a sell out for every event and 25 min levels with a 10k start. Can anyone confirm this, and who else is going to pick up all the dead money?

I very rarely see any forum members playing at any casino, but Rama continues to sell out and there have been times when people would offer ticketholders well above face value just to play.

Correctamundo. Since partypoker has announced that it will get rid of hand histories and HUDs, :rage: I may grind there more instead of live until that suicidal software update.
  • Yes I'm also dreading this update. And I'm no where near the best at deciphering HUD stats, I mainly like it for the tracking win/loss, and review ease ability.

Are you regularly in attendance BF, or are you out of town for this particular one? I already got my ticket. Only number 12. Let's hope I can turn that peice of paper into many thousands
  • I can't find the WPT Dusk Till Dawn cash game chip I promised you at the moment, but I'll give you chips from WPT Valkenburg and WPT Tbilisi.

Due to the very beatable 5% rake AND field, this Rama bimonthly tournament series probably has the highest ROI for me. :h: I try to play it whenever I'm free.

  • Any recommendation on places to stay near Rama? Or is staying there the way to go?

Going for a show (Bill Burr) but will definitely be squeezing in some poker!
  • There is a days inn (?) across the street from the casino. That may be the best option. The rooms at Rama are very nice but usually VERY expensive even on weekdays. There are also many other hotels in orillia which provide casino shuttle and are maybe 10 min drive to the casino.

Debating on if I should do a TR for this past trny I just played. (2nd time I've ever played the Rama trny)
  • Thanks for the info, and if you post a TR I'll read it!

    ditto..
  • Allright, maybe later on this evening when I'm
All finished up I tackle it. Have a feeling it's going to be very TLDR, will have to remember that paragraphs are my friend.

  • I've never stayed at the Rama hotel, but I've noticed it sometimes has $99 rates. For the Days Inn, you just have to cross the road and you're in the Rama parking lot.

The weird thing about Rama cash games is that the BBJ and rake are kept in the same box, which I've never seen in the entire world. :o Even illegal clubs that steal from the BBJ & other promotional jackpots keep the rake separate in the table. A couple of lawyer players protested to the AGCO on behalf of the Rama poker community, but shockingly the otherwise strict AGCO could not see anything wrong with not knowing what the proper BBJ should be. :bs:

  • Anybody know if Rama still has these biweekly tournaments? If so how are they. I've never done a live tourney before but I'm thinking of taking a stab at one of these
  • I already bought my ticket for the last tournament this Monday, December 14. It sold out early as usual last time, and there were disappointed players on Monday morning looking to buy a ticket. You can search for and read the Rama trip reports of Monoxide, UBetIFold & mine.

Since you mentioned that you usually play at Woodbine, it has an excellent Deep Stack $330 tournament next Wednesday. Next time you play at Woodbine, please remind them to stop scheduling its tournaments in direct conflict with Great Blue Heron's Wednesday bimonthly tournaments. :arghh:

  • WOW @ it already being sold out lol that's insane. I had no clue these tourneys were poppin like that

I actually didn't know about the tourney at Woodbine either but I have a final that day so it's a no go for me unfortunately. I'm definitely gonna let woodbine know they need to step their schedule game up though

Thank you for the response and info
  • There are probably tickets left for next Monday. Since there is so much poker demand in Ontario but the casinos don't allow alternates in their small rooms, players are sometimes very disappointed when they show up for sold-out tournaments at Rama, Woodbine, Brantford, GBH, or Fallsview.

  • The last rama trny I played I pre bought my ticket a couple weeks in advance knowing they are always sell outs. I would recommend you buy in advance also and play, it's a great trny, based on many factors.
