Pokerstars fucks us again.. GG time to find a job..

Announcement: PokerStars Changes to Rake, Spin & Go Prizes, and Battle of the Planets - Internet Poker - Online Poker Forum

Jesus christ, they are just fucken money hungry fucken idiots, what the fuck are the thinking? on games that are already just barely beatable they increase rake so regs will not be able to beat them too...

People complaining about SNG's they increase rake + make it higher variance..

  • Startles was on to something....

Unbelievable though. Why buy the company?? Seems their intent is to tank worse than the Buffalo sabres
  • what the fucking fuck!?

    god damn you stars.

  • Do you think they'll lose a lot of players due to this?
  • Except for no BOP, No changes to regular sng's? YET?

It's just another company making awful GREEDY decisions, All they have to do is really nothing and let the money keep flowing in, It's sad but hilarious at the same time.

i think they'll lose some regs but they'll probably gain some new players through some other promotions (like the jackpot sngs). overall though, i think it'll drop traffic.

i'm pissed about it and i'm already thinking about playing live more.

After reading and seeing some numbers, I think stars is hoping to lose Regs in their games and habe more fish on fish action for the casino games they want to open up.

They are trying to make games unbeatbale since fish dont give a shit about rake, but tons of players are rakeback pros and making livings from that

Amaya wants more money from fish going to their pokckets without us REGS having the cuts

Instead of a fish playing a reg in a HUSNG 10 times and losing only 10buyins of rake, they can now play fish vs fish 100X (est obv) and lose 100 X the rake...

but if we don't voice our concerns now, it may be only a matter of time before they increase those rakes too.
  • they basically did the opposite of what players asked for in their StarsFeedback thread, i dont think they care nearly as much as the old owners did. telling them we dont like it will not change anything, you have to do it with your feet. i havnt played on stars in many months now, this is another reason not to.

    Bill owns Amaya
  • Amaya Blockbuster merger?
  • Was also going to say I did not know Tcarnage was a sng player:o:).

I have known close to a year that they were getting rid of BOP but we were trying to get a better "bonus" system to replace it, So far I have seen nothing about them replacing BOP with something.

Now we are in the first few days of some of these changes it is going to be interesting to see the impact.
  • Watching a $10,800 prizepool in a 3 dollar spin n go, All the jealous people in chat is gold.LOL

That and you can't make a deal in these, $9,000 for 1st, other 2 get $900.
  • Hasn't been posted, the hyper guys went on strike and are not playing reg on reg action 60+ till atleast nov 11th..

The cap guys all went and sat lobbies and didnt play and got banned today, nobody knows for how long..

    Just keeps going downhill...
  • Wat, Amaya's PokerStars BANNED players for sitting!?
Phil Galfond: "Most importantly, I know if I had a company with a viable piece of poker software, I’d be celebrating right now... that, and working my ass off to become a competitor. Hopefully someone out there will finally get their act together in case this is just the first of many changes. The biggest reason I think this could be a misstep is that Pokerstars has cracked open a door for other sites that had previously been dead bolted."
Come on, 888, iPoker or partypoker, get your act together! I have made a LOT of money at partypoker but I know that most players will still rather keep losing on PokerStars than have a higher win rate on partypoker's BUGGY SOFTWARE.

So I was going to ship my uncle money when I go down to Guelph at the end of the month to put on stars and party should I not split it and just go to party?
  • What are the changes to cash game rake?
  • DirtArse will confirm that he also has a much higher win rate at partypoker, so you should first build up your bankroll through a softer site instead of GreedyStars. Be prepared for buggy software tho as GTA Poker has found out.

  • I personally hope a big site that deals in free fantasy sports would take over and become the new competitor for pokerstars.

Yahoo I heard is looking to get into online poker, yahoo is amazing as they have THE BEST fantasy sports and has a massive pool, like millions, of people signed up who go to the site every single day. I use it for a 10-man NHL pool that runs all season with some buddies, any betting is done off-site though like we hand each other $50. Anyway it makes sense though, as a lot of poker players I know also love hockey, football, and all other fantasy sports, so poker and fantasy sports go hand in hand.

Its just speculation and rumor at this point from Yahoo, as I have no doubt they could create a solid poker website that would rival pokerstars. But the main difficulty comes in creating real money games, somehow making it in the mainsteam market due to different countries gambling laws, payment processors, advertisements etc...

I hear this alot, but I'm not so sure. I think that the variance of playing massive fields (Stars) is tougher to measure when comparing it to relatively small fields on Party.

My lifetime ROI is actually higher on Stars than Party (according to OPR)...although Party does not show live satty seats won for some reason, which I think would bring them pretty much on par.

Can't speak for cash games and SNG's though.

I don't really follow the rake on sng's and cash.....how does Stars compare to the competition (Party, 888, etc) after the increase?

It certainly would suck for anyone grinding these for a living, no doubt.
  • Use Sharkscope, which includes satellites and SNGs, to compare your GreedStars ROI with the other sites. Players whose stats I know have a LOT higher profit and ROI by playing at other than GreedStars.
