E&C Custom Chips "AJ's Cardroom"

Okay, here we go. As some of you may remember, AJ White passed last year. His widow is looking to sell the last of his chips. These chips are on the Elephant and Crown mold, and have minimal wear. The edges are crisp, and as close to mint as you will likely find. Not sure of the asking price, as it is not my business.

There are approx. 1800 chips in total, with 600+ accounting for the tournament set (all 1/4 pies).

The cash set is broken down to allow for limit, pot limit, and no limit games, as well as Stud. Lowest denom is a $0.50, highest is a $500.00.

If you are serious about these, you can PM me for the seller's e-mail address and make inquiries. I would have bought these myself, but cannot afford what I feel would be a fair price for them.

  • Those are purrrty

Can u ball park what a cash set like that would go for? I'm still new to chips.

Cost for these new would be WELL in excess of $2k (probably 3k). Some of those chips are $2 a piece or more. (and I understand they are not new of course)
  • Value $2k-$2.5k

Tough sell unless your name is AJ. But these are the top top of custom clay chips. The Elephant and Crown mold is also very exclusive and was only brought back for a limited run by the manufacturer. Some very old school casino chips were made on this mold.
  • Hmm...

Wonder if there's a way to get the most bucks for this in some kind of MTT tourney? Get Moose to price them out, then play for them with chips going to the winner and $ going to widow?

I know we'd be hard pressed to get say 25 people at $100 a pop, especially for chips though.. shame, it'd be a nice gesture.

  • Those are gorgeous! Sorry if it's a dumb question, but is it an all or nothing sale or would she sell X amt to this person and that person?
  • In reality they should stay together but there is a tourney set and a cash set. It shouldn't be split anymore than that.
  • Tweeted it out to try and spread the word. Beautiful chips.
  • I'll ask around out here, as there are a few chip hounds on the Island.

Milo, did you post these on chip talk.net? More more likely to get a buyer there then here.
  • I had never heard of this chip talk you speak of! v4cieu.jpg
  • It's for crazy people with lots of chips. ;)

Total cost new (not what AJ paid) was closing in on $3k according to what AJ told me when he purchased them. HE bought them from the original owner. These chips may not be "new" but only like a car that has just been driven off the lot.

That is why I love them. Told AJ that if he was ever going to sell them, I wanted first shot. Did not expect it to be so soon.

I think she wants to sell it as is. Doubt she wants to bother splitting even the tourney chips off, but who knows.
