  • You are right. Be the change.

tapatalk puts this here to annoy YOU
  • You going to declare that rake as income to the CRA?
  • sure why not? if i could get licensed somehow (probably impossible) of course

ontario fucking sucks when it comes to poker

they dont know how to structure games properly cause they dont give a fuck about poker.

im talking mainly about tournaments also. its not hard to set up a proper cash game. tournaments needs to be structured properly

the structure at brantford only gets better at like 230-550+ buyin. which is insane. Aria's DAILY tournament has a much better structure at $125.

Las vegas obviously knows how to cater to the average poker player, or just simply poker players in general, because they've been on that scene forever.

Ontario is fucking CLUELESS when it comes to poker.
  • The ONLY reason a casino offers poker in the first place is to try and lure players to their more profitable games. NO casino REALLY cares about poker for it's own sake.
  • Odd, I don't remember when Brantford built those 120,000 hotel rooms filled with gamblers...
  • security also

and its not a whore house, or drug house, or a means to arms trade to overthrow the government and kill innocent people...lawlz

I just spent nine great days at the Aria, but their $97+$3+$25 daily tourney has 22% rake + 30% withholding tax, so they are UNBEATABLE! Everybody here knows that I'm a "Patience Factor" and ROI freak, so I analyzed the entire schedule of summer high-rake tournaments in Las Vegas, but I couldn't find a single +EV tourney worth buying into.

Instead of just whining about how Ontario tournaments can be better as an excuse for not playing, I've put my money where my mouth is and played a LOT of tourneys, including the following with decent structures:

    - $330 & $550 Deep $tack$ @ Great Blue Heron (2 of its all-time money leader$, Popkorn & $teveKerr, along with me were in the final 14 after > 11 hour$, & head$-up finally chopped after 19 hour$!). :o Fortunately, DirtArse listened to my advice & played @ GBH, which gives out a $21 buffet voucher & trophies to the Top 3, so he basically took a rake-free shot and won > $5,000 last week! We are going to use the money we have won at GBH to go on an Asian Poker Tour in October.

    - Five MTT$ of WPT Fall$view, with >$4 million prize pool.
    - $220+$10 Deep $tack tourney$ at Mohawk, We$tern Fair, Woodbine, & Georgian Down$ with great $tructure$ and only 4% rake! :cool2:
    - $330, $550 & $1090 Deep $tack$ @ Brantford. Congrat$ to reibs and coolblue24 for their huge Top 2 ca$he$ @ the $550.
    - Two $950+$50 tourney$ at Point Edward, with only 5% rake!

This part is incorrect. Although it may have the smallest rake of any of them, it is completely filled with sharks. Dont even bother checking it out, just take my word for it. Kthxbai
  • well thats what i was trying to say. Aria's tournament only costs $125 and their structure is better.

Aria's daily tournaments have a better structure. There is no withholding tax. and yeah the rake is higher. but maybe because the blinds go up every 30 minutes instead of 20.

At brantford they have 80 players for their deepstack. With that many players anything less than 30 minute blinds is absurd. A couple times i've been and there wasn't one freakin' orbit and the blinds are already up. It's a pure luck fest.

The only thing you said which i didnt was the rake.

Whereas at Aria, with 30 minute blinds, I was fairly card dead last time i was there and still made $1400 in two tournaments. Those extra 10 minutes are huge.

You said it, $230-$330 before the structure gets better. I'm sure you know what kind of bankroll one needs for those kinda tournaments.

    Edit:
Never mind I found out on one of BF's old posts. It's 20 min.
