Did I play my pocket kings right?

Hi, my first post here. Played a hand last week at local casino and wonder if I should have played it so aggressively. 1/2 no limit, I preflopped to $12 with 2 red pocket kings, one caller. Flop comes Q27, 2 clubs. My stack is now $150. I bet $25, he calls after a lot of hollywooding. I'm putting him on a flush draw. Turn comes a blank. There's now $77 in the pot, I have $125 left. I don't want to see another club so I shove all in. He calls! He shows a set of queens. Flop comes a blank. I lose. In hindsight, all his hollywooding on the flop was actually him deciding whether to raise because he didn't like the clubs...not because he was on the flush draw. Would anyone have played it similarly or am I a total idiot?:-\

  • You played it fine. I would have bet $50ish and call his shove. It wasn't a scary flop or turn. I'm sure he calls you with AQ as well. I'm sure he holds his flush draw to your shove. Hard to putti on QQ just flatting your raise.
  • Meh it's getting in, but I'm not shoving the turn.. Just seems bad, you want the FD's to call when it -ev for them to call, and a lot of KQ, AQ, QJ, QT, Q9 hands as well which half of those will fold to a shove...

I bet 50 on turn as well.. His obv shoving there if u only make it 50 and u call and get it in..

Flatting QQ when u opened to 12 seems like it could be fine depending how nitty you are.
  • See your point, thanks
