Are there any carvers around these parts? I started to get interested in it a number of years back, bought about a dozen high quality knives from Lee Valley, along with carrying pouch, but never really took it up. The gear is basically mint, still with the factory edge on them, except for one which I used for a couple hours of fiddling around. Seems a waste to have them sitting around doing nothing . . .

The only wood carving I do is either with a chainsaw..or a sandblaster for signs. My dad used to be into that stuff and it's interesting what those funky little knives can actually create.
