As played fold....I don't think you're ahead here often enough to make this call.

I don't like the check call on the turn.....I'd rather lead out again to give you a better idea where you stand in the hand.

Why are you leading flop? Seems like an easy check/evaluate spot, with calling and folding being equally possible based on bet-sizing and action. Turn and river are w/e with no reads. I mean either way we're not making a ton of profit. He seems to be repping nuts or air, but his whole line makes no sense so he could easily have some 1 pair hands that beat you that he's shoving as well.

I agree with vekked, dont bet that flop. Too draw heavy. You can c/c or c/f depending on villian, but really you never want to play a big pot here. Villian's play smells like the nuts to me. Either way, Whatever he has he's got you beat.

Agree with check-calling flop and leading the turn is actually a viable option if you check-call flop. You're repping the nuts and your opponent will have difficulty raising without a very strong hand. Fold to any major aggression if played this way.

this idea came to me when i lost this hand.

was hoping to find someone who would call here so i could match it to my opponent. i am the villain here and i realized you can use the forum to check how people would react to your bluffs. i figured the hero was weak here and couldn't/wouldn't call my shove but likely he's not good enough to lay down as the posts here show.

not saying its a good bluff, was just experimenting with shoving when i know hero has a less than mediocre hand. maybe he's awesome and picked off my bluff. maybe its less expensive to just make up hands and post them here.

i rarely bluff like this.... prob never in the last 3 months but im gonna start playing with it a little bit.

yeah, it's not really a good bluff after villain goes into check calling mode. villain can't assume you're making a pretty creative (badish) bluff so he should fold river a well. The bar is always gonna be set higher for us than for the people we play against though, so we shouldn't give villain credit for knowing that he should fold, at least not early in a fairly low buyin tournament

yeah don't bluff this man, the tourny is so early and a lot of players at these micro stakes go to the mode of "meh, its only 2-3 bucks, if I lose i can easily join another tourny, or I can double up right now! hell I got a pair!"
I don't mind this move when you have notes on the player, the blinds are a little higher, and he has a middling stack. But here you're tryign to get creative against an opponent for all your chips when you have no read, and he could be holding ATC. Not saying I've never done it, but it has definetely cost me more then what it has won.

yup and i know this for sure, and looking back its a lame post that way cause its not like he tanked and then called, or didn't believe me (maybe), but just too donked to lay down.

its a learning thing though i need need to keep practicing this aspect, and its gonna cost some penny, but it comes from that e book philly posted about exploiting the regulars sometimes by shoving or bluffing hands they likely can't call. here i made the correct read on the incorrect player.

but the interesting thing is we get to post hands and see what the best thing to do is, but if we post our own bluffs backwards, we get to see which types of players would fold and who dodn't.
