Brantford 2/5 or 3/6?

Does anyone know if Brantford has a 2/5 or 3/6 game? Are they as loose as Rama's 2/5? What's the wait like?

Thanks.

  • The lowest I've ever seen at Brantford is 5-10. Wait times depend heavily on when you arrive. Typically the wait is no more than an hour or two, but can be longer at a peak time (e.g. a weekend evening).

    hork.
  • I've seen a 2/5 there once, but the supervisors say they don't get enough interest to open the table now.
  • I doubt it's because there's "not enough interest" (I bet there would be more than enough interest). I'll bet that the real reason is "not enough rake". The house drop at 2-5 would be significantly lower. There's no way they could take $150/hr off of a 2-5 table.

  • In september of 2003 brantford experimented with a 2-5 table Mon-Thur but they didn't get enough interest and since the five ten tables are almost always full, they don't really care to offer the lower game.
  • Not exactly a fair test to offer it on only Mon-Thur. ;) The idea is that 2-5 would be more appealing to casual players, like random people who are around the casino playing other games anyway and want to give poker a try (maybe for the first time). I bet they would have had more success if they tried offering it on a weekend. But whether they even want 2-5 to succeed is another question...

This is the same sort of thing that makes me think Brantford will never get poker tournaments off the ground. Even if they ever do decide they want to attempt to run a tournament (which I think is doubtful, despite the rumors) they'll probably run it at a time that is so off-peak that there will be "no interest".
